T-24 Hours but who's countin'

Almost ready to kick off. Unless somebody jumps in at the last second, I'll generate the game tomorrow after work and mail the first turn out around 8pm.
I'll arrange play order to match the order in which people signed up, so that's
1. Ciego Montero
2. Justice
3. Byzantine Bureaucracy
4. Mick McKnee
5. Philis McGee
6. Ghengis Kant
I've been generating maps like crazy and am dissatisfied with the lot of 'em. Its a pity more people don't have Warlords, one of the perks is greater flexibility in custom maps.
The only real runners as far as I'm concerned are Ring or Continents:
I'm leaning towards Ring.

The only real runners as far as I'm concerned are Ring or Continents:
- Continents might be interesting, but I'm worried it will lead to stalemate in mid/late game. also, the maps generated tend to split 6 people 4 and 2 with very uneven resources
- Ring is a best of both worlds I think, there's lots of coast for pirating (Y'arr etc) and avoiding bottlenecks at borders, resources are quite evenly distributed, though somebody will probably end up without Iron or horses in their area. The drawback is limited realistic lines of advance to two directions.
I'm leaning towards Ring.
