For the past while we've been running servers for the general Irish community and as is the nature of these things games fall in and out of favour which has lead to a number of servers sitting idle or rarely used.

So for the next few days I'm going to gather suggestions for games to run and suggestions as what server (server details below) to run them on. Naturally servers which are in use will be left as is, so thats quakeworld(games5) and the pirates server(games2).

The servers are spec'ed as follows:

• games1 - dual 1gz machine
• games2 - dual 2gz machine
• games3 - Used for TS (1gz)
• games4 - 3gz machine
• games5 - 750(?) mhz

Some of them are underpowered by todays standards but should run older games ok servers typically need less horsepower its bandwidth thats the issue but thats not a problem here. I'll hopefully have funds to do another hardware update sometime after the new year.

I'll leave this open until friday for suggestions and then setup some polls to run for the weekend and we'll work out what goes where then.

So if you've a suggestion just reply here with the game name and the machine (you can select multiple possible homes) to run it on.

So for example to run dods on games4 but falling back to games2 if its outvoted just put DOD:S - game4, game2

We can do this monthly on server slots which seem unused to keep things used.

** Just a wee extra, these boxes run linux so naturally the game must be available for that platform, and in situations where game data from a disc is required (aka the quake series need stuff from the base folder) my ability to get that data will also be a limiting factor.

As long as you don't touch POP I'd dont much mind.

Hidden:source - games4,games2
Forgotten Hope - Games4 (for a big server), games2 this game is the daddy
Quake2 - games1

Well it seems that most of the BFP players would like to play a bit of Siege :P
That was a cool mod for BF1942, too bad they had to stop the developpment :[
Anyway, if we could have it somewhere, even just for a short time, that'd be nice!

I'm obveously supporting seige but i beleive that the mods website shut down as the dev's stopped yet there may be something on bf1942files.com or planet battle field
