New Game: Mod or Not?

Post by justice »

Listed players:
Ghoulius Caesar
Moustachioed Dictator
Maximilian
Byzantine Bureaucracy
justice

Ok checked out some of the mods

i'll list them above, and give brief synopsis here:

Broken Star: A USSR MAp, either current or slight future, combat based, preset map with up to 8 players (5 ok) and some AI. 250 suggested turn limit.

Next War: full earth map 4 civs only (checked it out b4 i realised 5 on list :)) kinda battletech like:? futuristic 200 turn limit.

Crossroads: Middle east ~1300Ad. Commercial based game. 200 turn

Charlemagne: Europe dark ages, 5 civs. Advanced Start but looks civ like, extra religious stuff i think.

Fall From heaven (ver 2.3): One i downloaded myself, started a game of this b4 here which didnt pann out (sub optimal game setup!) fantasy civ, magic. has some dramatic differences (such as one civ who can only have 3 cities, but those cities use 9 extra tiles).

standard BTS: multiple options of start periods.
ancient:
midevil:
Rennasence.
industrial
modern.

2 day limit then i'll start game based on most popular (more than 5 votes and i'll curse ye lurking spoilsports!)
i'll hold on my opinion atm.
Justice - The Unrelable one

what if we get 1 vote in five different options!?

Where's BTS classical option!

For me, I have never tried any of the mods in BTS (I tried the Alexander campaign in the last addon and was scarred for life... so ... very ... boring) so I would be uneasy committing to a mod I may not like, when the game will be hopefully going for the rest of the year!

Hence, I think plain BTS, I don't mind the era, but actually classical would be my choice, you start with all the early techs, so no learning to dig holes in hills or lay roads and all that muck.

I haven't voted for anything yet. 8)
I demand only unflinching obedience

Wow, looks like BTS Renaissance is the run away candidate of choice at the moment. Lets hope he has the staying power to remain in the race.
