Just wondering, is there any unwritten etiquette that we should be abiding by? Or is it pretty much anything goes?
What I mean for example is in the last turn I encountered Montezuma's scount unit. Now I wouldn't even consider attacking it in a single player game, let alone a multiplayer game, but would that be frowned upon if I did, so early in the game? Should we avoid rush tactics and early wars so everybody can find their feet?

I don't like games with rushes but I'm really that pushed about it. It's part and parcel of the game tbh.

I think its entirely up to you really. If you want to be aggressive, be aggressive. If you want to be nice, be nice. If you want to bow down before the might of the Spandexian Empire, bow down before the might of the Spandexian Empire.
