Red Alert

Post by Rev Hellfire »

So who's picking it up today ?

I'm planning a trip daun town today to hopefully pick it up. Though the fact it has this limited number of installs rubbish is putting me off.

I'll be happy to give my initial view of the game :)

The other game I want to get is oblivi... no I mean Fallout3, though I'm in two minds about that.
I really liked the first one... but found oblivion kind of so so with its open ended nature. If I just want to go wandering I actually go outside and go for a walk.

Well given the choice between 38 Euro in HMV (tomorrow) or 55 in Gamespot I think I'll be waiting until tomorrow.

how did this pass me by until after release!?

I'll probably order it because I enjoyed C&C3 even though I hated RA2 (I never rated RA as high as the first C&C either)

It will be put on the growing pile of games I've ordered online since I left home 6 weeks ago, I'll be home in another 5 weeks for a fortnight to play through Fallout 3, colonization, RA3 and probably gears of war 2.

Hold my calls.

Must say I'm really enjoying the little of it I've played.
I love the cheesy acting, its nice to see a game which doesn't take itself to seriously.

There was a great bit in C&C3 where the aliens attack and you're fleeing with some scientists, there's loads of background radio chatter of soldiers getting eviscerated as they call for help and such but one guy shouts: "We thought we were alone in the universe.... OH THE HUBRIS!!!!! ARRRGGGGH *static*"

Yeah there's some nice touches in it.
Must say I've always had a soft spot for C&C + Red Alert thanks to their less than serious approach.
